Marcos Edson de Oliveira

Being a fan of space combat games, specially the X-Wing series, I found in FurtherTime a more than potential match for famous titles like X-Wing and TIE Fighter. As the author will point himself, the game is not complete, yet it already shows some impressive features: high detailed 3D models, opposed to (some very) low poly models found in other games; functional 3D cockpits (rarity!); a powerful, fast and smooth engine are just some of the what you will find in FurtherTime. Engage a capital ship and observe as it aims its weapons at you in a realistic way. Evade (or be evaded by) different enemy fighters. Fly your ship in levels specially made to test your piloting skills. If you enjoy space combat games, you will enjoy FurtherTime. And as development advances, expect to see even cooler features added to this already great game.

I am very thankful to Marcos for his review of FurtherTime 1.0, thorough analysis of the game and a lot of suggestions he has made.

FurtherTime - Attention on deck! This is not a drill! This is FurtherTime!

If you are enthusiastic about space and feel somewhat nostalgic about the good old times when the space simulator genre was popular, FurtherTime will be totally your cup of tea. In this great 3D space simulator, you will be given an opportunity to choose from three deadly lightning-fast fighters to control and to pilot right into the enemy hive. Confront hordes of enemy spacecraft deployed wing by wing from motherships, cut enemy supply lines by destroying freighters, prevent enemy bombers from attacking delivering their deadly cargo and do everything possible to prove your prowess in adrenaline-pumping space dogfights!

The game features highly realistic 3D graphics with detailed spacecraft models (over 3000 polygons each) and advanced enemy AI. Don't expect your spacefighter's to be a snap - the enemy will push the envelope to prove you wrong and conquer your home planet. Each spacecraft has a highly detailed and informative cockpit that will keep you constantly updated about the status of your fighter and warn about dangers approaching from the dark depths of space. Your roles will also change as you will go through a number of missions ranging from dangerous vigilante raids to large-scale offensives involving mammoth destroyers fending off incoming heavy bombers convoyed by agile fighters. In FurtherTime, you will experience all the joys and pains of being a real combat space pilot, will face grave dangers and finally lead your fleet to complete victory.

In short, FurtherTime may be just what you've been seeking for so long, so don't miss the chance to warm up your ion cannons once again. Download this free game right away and enjoy the ride!

Different flight simulators are very popular among young generation of PC users. But it's still hard to find the one, which could please everyone and which is worth spending your time on it. Of course I should notice, that there are no an ideal game in the whole virtual world: each one has its own disadvantages.

The game called FurtherTime is a usual space combat simulator, so its qualities are common for the most of such games: complicated plane's dashboard, difficult and hard-to-remember system of controls and almost unbeatable enemies, because they act inside the game, till you are trying to establish your own laws from your own outside. The game itself isn't a hard one, it will be quite clear to experienced users, it's well-designed enough to be called "a usual flight simulator". Though it's not so interesting to run through tutorials, you'd better do it not to be fooled by your evil opponents. The process of playing isn't calm: you have to act quickly and correct, make fast decisions and aim well. As for me, the label of "normal simulator" is rather positive than something else, so you may try to check out this demo-version. Have a nice flight, if you only have Win98 or higher!
